Violin Girl – Susan Sokol Blosser

Introducing Violin Girl, the fifth book authored by our Co-founder Susan Sokol Blosser and her first historical fiction novel – a true story inspired by her mother’s life.

Set in early 20th century Chicago, a proper Jewish girl's place was in the home, not on the concert stage. Violin Girl follows Belle, a talented young violinist torn between her gift for music and the life her family and society expect of her: marriage and motherhood over her passion. Filled with music, heartbreak, and resilience, Belle builds a beautiful life from what she is handed, guided by her mother's refrain: Don't complain. Just make do.
